    Bento Style Lunches


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Bento lunches are Japanese-style lunches that involve foods with a variety colors, textures and flavors that 'make an eye pleasing display,' said bentology, who said small amounts and a wide variety encourages picky eaters to nosh. 'My oldest went from wanting to buy the school lunch two to three times per week to wanting me to pack her every day. When I was little, I remember my mom writing “I love you” messages on my napkin…This is just a different way for me to remind them how much I love them.'

    This school year I've been packing my daughters' lunches "bento style".  I'm having a great time making nutritious and fun lunches for them.  My daughter went from wanting to buy the school's lunch at least 2-3 times a week to wanting to pack every day!  I post pictures of their lunches every day on my blog:
