Soulebration In Philadelphia
Several hundred spectators and fans of the Philadelphia Soul football team
co-owned by rock star Jon Bon Jovi, gathered in the center city to cheer the
wining team after it grabbed the victory title Arena Bowl XXII Sunday, July 27,
in New Orleans.
Arena Football League champions including the entire team, executives and
owners paraded down the Sixth and Market streets down to the City Hall 's
Dilworth Plaza where Bon Jovi presented the team and thanked the city for a
warm reception it showed to his team.
"This is the little train that could. This is the sports team that said
we're going to be your sports team, and we're going to be the team that you
feel apart of the most," the rock star told the crowd. "We want to
thank you for the opportunity to let us be apart of your lives as much as
you've become apart of our lives.
The Philadelphia Soul won its first Arena Football League Championship over
the San Jose Sabercats in a close winning score 59-56, Sunday afternoon in New
Orleans.
