Travel snapshots: Otherworldly landscapes
Kitchener Island and the Nile River in Aswan, Egypt
These photos were taken on our recent vacation in Egypt.
After a few days in Cairo we flew to Aswan to begin our cruise from there to Luxor. First, we visited Kitchener Island in Aswan which is now a botanical garden filled with lush tropical flowers and fruit trees.
The trip to the island was done in a felucca (traditional Egyptian sail boat) and the journey to the island was very scenic. The Nile is so blue and the view of the sand hills/cliffs contrasting in brown was just lovely.
Aswan was so different from Cairo which is just hustle and bustle while Aswan was so unexpectedly beautiful and serene and very green.
We enjoyed our time in Aswan very much.
