    Challenger- Where Were You?

    I was 6 years old, and my Kindergarten class was lined up on our rugs in front of the TV. Mrs. Throne, my teacher had been telling us about the launch for weeks, and the excitement grew as the day grew closer. There was a teacher on board! I remember watching the liftoff with excitement and anticipation. It was absolutely beautiful. When it exploded, there was a moment of silence in the room. Nobody, not even Mrs. Throne could say anything. What's funny is, I don't remember her explanation of what happened. Even at 6 years old I knew. It was a day I'll never forget. I'm going to be 32 in March, and it is still one of the most haunting days of my life thus far.
