This iReport is part of an assignment:
Finding a long-lost parent, sibling |
Black brother meets white sister
I am a biracial man who was the result of an affair between my white biological mother and a black co-worker. Immediately after my birth I was given up for adoption.
For 21 years I searched for my biological mother. On a cool Friday evening in October of 2009, while at a local high school football game I found out via a text message that I was 6 years too late. The adoption angel had found my bio-mother but she had died in May of 2003.
In the midst of this bad news I found out I had 3 bio brothers and a sister. Over the next few weeks I was am to get their names and frantically searched for phone numbers for them. But the one reliable phone number I found was the phone number to my mother's husband and I would have to go through him to find the brother's and sister who knew nothing about me.
