A Survival Package: Necessary or Unnecessary?
A survival package is typically made up of a first aid kit, multi-use tool, food, water (or way to sanitize water), matches and depending on the survival package even more to weather most disasters for a short period of time. Not long ago a survival package was kept only by survivalists and people wearing little tinfoil hats. Now, survival packages are being scooped up by the regular public to prepare for disasters, which are almost inevitable in any part of the world. The question is would they really benefit you? My answer is if you had a survival package the water sanitization alone would be worth it. If you could have clean water your chance of survival goes up tremendously should clean water be in short supply. Why wouldn't you just stock up on bottled water instead? You really should do both. If you have bottled water (it varies what experts recommend) and a way to santize water in the short term it will allow you to be mobile without trying to carry more than a small supply of water with you. It can never hurt to be prepared and most of us aren't unfortunately. How are you prepared for emergencies?
