    Did Congress do enough?

    More from OurReality

Gas prices - Democrat conspiracy to win election?

Bush had a republican controlled congress for 6 years. During that time, there was no need for any drilling policy changes because oil prices were not crazy (only $50 a barrel when control in both the house and senate changed hands from republican to democrat). Also during those 6 years, any other proposed energy legislation was either filibustered, radically "porked" or otherwise blocked in other ways by the democrats. The democrats have controlled congress for the past 1.5 years, going on 2. DURING JUST THAT TIME, oil has gone from $50 to $150 a barrel and corn has gone from $2 to $8 a bushel. The "comprehensive energy policy" that Pelosi and Reid promised when they were elected has not even been attempted yet. Your democrat controlled congress has the lowest approval rating (15%) in the history of that survey and is even lower than the president's approval. But, oh yeah, I forgot; it's Bush's fault. So let's top it all off by putting a democrat in the white house. Wake up people! The president is a figure head and has ideas or proposals. But congress creates and passes laws, legislation and policy changes!!! Do your own research and stop blindly listening to the liberal media. Did you know your democrat controlled congress is quietly planning to raise the federal gas tax? It was buried using 2 sentences toward the last page of our great newspaper. You can blame that on Bush too.
