This iReport is part of an assignment:
Did Congress do enough? |
Is this why Congress has an all-time low approval rating?
To answer CNN's questions first:
- You bet I'm holding my representatives Accountable!!
- I would hope the President would demand Congress return to Washington to complete work for the American People!
- You are darn right it is going to affect my vote this year.
My thoughts:
Regardless of whether any energy bill passes the House & Senate, it should be put to a vote to show that OUR Congress is making a legitimate effort to accomplish something on our behalf. Taking a vacation that is over a month long (5 full weeks) when we have critical energy issues on the table that are affecting my personal financial situation and the overall National Security issue of foreign energy dependence is inexcusable!
Congress (both houses) has been a bitter disappointment since the Democrats took over. Speaker Pelosi has presided over the worst approval ratings in congressional history and has shown little to no leadership whatsoever. Their list of accomplishments is not only very short, but so tempered by political posturing that most of the Bills that have passed are of little substance or value to US Policy or the American People.
This is NOT the Democratic party of my father’s day!!
The Democrats wanted to run the Congress and so we let them…is this the best they can do? Obama is right, we need change alright – change in the Congress first!!
What do you think of this story?
