NYC Becomes Pothole City
The NYC Department of Transportation is calling it the worst pothole problem in years- the streets of New York City, from the Henry Hudson Parkway to the West Side Highway, and everywhere in between- look like the surface of the moon.
The DOT is blaming this lunar landscape on both the severity and frequency of storms this season, and is receiving hundreds of calls a day about potholes.
The head of the Transportation Department went on the news filling up some craters and promising drivers that crews are working around the clock to bring thins under control.
They have filled up about 40,000 potholes since the start of the snowy season.
Here are some pictures taken on 14th Street in Manhattan, one of the most transited crosstown streets.
