Fire On 48th & Walnut
This footage, shot today (February 14th, 2011) was gathered to document the situation happening in West Philadelphia. The tenants of the Windermere Court apartments were forced out of their homes when a fire broke out on January 10th, 2011. Their belongings and even pets have been inside ever since. Tenants claim to have witnessed the previous maintenance man going in with a dozen men and a truck, taking their possessions.
Today, the landlord has scheduled the demolition team to take down the building. This footage captures the tenants and their stories. It also includes footage of police and Damon K. Roberts, an attorney who is running for city council second district.
