2011 Jazz In The Gardens To Showcase Star Studded Lineup
Jazz in the Gardens (“JITG”) music festival has grown to become more than just a two day musical event which showcases talent from R&B, Soul, and Jazz genres, instead JITG is now known as a premier music stop for music lovers nationally and internationally. The 2011 installment of this mammoth musical extravaganza rolls into South Florida and more specifically Miami Gardens on March 19-20, 2011. The festival which is entering into its sixth year will be hosted by popular Radio Show Host Michael Baisden, presented and produced by The City of Miami Gardens.
Jazz in the Gardens has enjoyed local and national support from the musical performers who have taken the stage over the last five years and from music lovers who have turned in record numbers to see their favorite performers. Typically, music festivals feel “the pinch” during trying economic times, but JITG has proven to be a “Teflon,” seeing attendance of over 45,000 patrons last year. The 2010 musical lineup included performances by Grammy award-winning artists such as Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, John Legend, Teena Marie, Boyz II Men, Cassandra Wilson and David Sanborn alongside a host of other world renowned talents such as Joe Sample, Melanie Fiona, K’Jon and Eric Roberson, all while reveling in a wide variety of ethnically diverse foods and top notch merchandise from all around the world.
The 2011 Jazz in the Gardens music festival will continue the magic to this annual tradition at SunLife Stadium, hosting an event that will surely surpass last year’s experience, with another illustrious lineup that continues to make this festival second to none. Taking the stage on March 19, 2011 will be musical Stallworth Lauryn Hill, the comparable Charlie Wilson, Lalah Hathaway, jazz legend Al Jarreau and musical group Heads of States which features Bobby Brown, Johnnie Gill and Ralph Tresvant. The final day of JITG will showcase another who is who list of musical talent, namely, Gladys Knight, El Debarge, Branford Marsalis, Isley Brothers featuring Ernest and Ron Isley and pop-divas EnVogue The JITG weekend will be a jam- packed with unforgettable experiences including but not limited to pre-festival events, after parties, fabulous shopping, community events and much, much more!
