This iReport is part of an assignment:
Time to legalize pot? |
Just what we need, more people that don't care...
(revised to make corrections, thank you for your comments)
Legalizing marijuana would be one of the worst things we can do to this country. America has a complete lack of self-responsibility and most people already can't make a good decision to save their lives. And you want to make them care even less!
Out of the studies I have read, it stays in your system for at least 3-4 days (minimum). NOT HIGH, but stays in your system (DUH!). So smoke it Friday night and it will still be there for work on Monday morning. As for the sluggishness and laziness it causes, that is a real good quality to have at work.
That WILL affect me because, if you can't hold a job, then you will be on wellfare and unemployment. As a taxpayer, I pay for that,
This would also just be something else for people to get addicted to and a way to spend the money they claim they don't have. I added up how much one of my friends spent on cigarettes, cigars and alcohol over several months. He spent more per month on stupidity than my monthly mortgage payment. He then had the nerve to tell me he didn't make enough money and I was rich. I did this test with several other co-workers (some using marijuana) and it turned out the same way.
Even if it does become legalized, I won't touch the stuff. I have more pride in my actions and reputation than that... No "feeling" is worth giving that up.
