    My son's name is Jedediah, Jed for short.  He has been called "Ted" and "Jeb".  He likes his short name, but I like his longer version as his last name is very short- Brown.  I also tell him that he is a combination of his father and me- Jennifer and Ed- Jed for short.  He was going to be named "Chevy" after the car and comedian.  My mom protested.  We changed it to Jed.
