Burnt-out NDP headquarters in Cairo / Crowds gathering on February 11th, 2011

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     simsimma says she took these photos of Downtown Cairo nearly two weeks ago. At that time the streets were swelling up with traffic and pedestrians making their way to Liberation Square. Simsimma also captured a photo of a burnt building in the area as well.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

This is the former headquarters of the N.D.P., which anti-government protesters had lit fire to on January 28th 2011, on the so-called "Friday of Rage". (Egypt's now former president Hosni Mubarak belonged to the National Democratic Party from 1981 until 2011. It was founded by his predecessor Anwar Sadat in 1978.)

On the other side of the street, protesters gather in the Cairo neighborhood of Boulaq and make their way towards Liberation Square in the early afternoon of February 11th, 2011.
