    Brett's back...now what?

    More from DannyNP

    Brett is BACK Baby!

This story is right up my alley.

I come from a long line of cheese head packer fans. I grew up with the Packers and our family is so tied in, that my great grandmother bought into the franchise when the Pack first became a team. We have lifetime tickets to see the Packers anywhere.

Altho I am not old enough to have seen a real game with Bart Star in it, and can only watch the replays of it, I did grow up with Brett Farve, Reggie White, Sterling Sharpe and many more of the Green Bay greats.

These are not just greats for Green Bay, but greats because of who they represented and still represent within American football. Especially Brett Farve.

Brett has brought forth a passion to the game that is rarely ever seen. In an era where big paychecks are handed out to our athletes and its more about flash than passion, you have a guy like Brett Farve who not only captured a nation, including non packer fans with his ability, but MORE SO with his tremendous heart, passion and integrity to one team, the sport itself and most importantly, the fans of football.

He carried a tremendous weigh on his shoulders and I remember watching him, and I still do, saying to myself "I want to be a man like that"

When his father died, and he got out on the field and played that day anyway, my heart wept and I know Americas heart wept.

The incredible means it takes a man, to get out on the field with his heart destroyed by the death of his father is tremendous and whether you were a Packer fan or not, you were routing for him because you know in your heart, that this is an extraordinary event to witness. Brett not only won that day for himself, the fans and his father, but he dominated and his team, who I also have to give major credit to, helped him every step along the way.

We are talking about one of the greats and we are getting to watch this go down folks. This is legendary, like Michael Jordan. Like Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Willy Mays. You get the picture. These extraordinary stars dont come often and when they do, its important to embrace them.

The Green Bay Packers shot callers have me incredibly disappointed!

How can you deny a man that helped make your team, that revived life back into an otherwise unknown team that many people did not pay attention too. He garnered support and loyalty from so many people world wide because of what he stood for and who he has always been. No criminal history to speak off, no incredibly stupid acts that defaced the league or the team.

Then they have the balls to sit back and say, well if we let you back, you will be second to our new starter? Your new starter?

No offense but who the hell cares. We are talking about BRETT FAVRE. The young new starter will get his chance, but if you ask anyone of his team mates who they want on the field come game day, your going to find the Favre is the landslide winner. Now, if you ask the nation who they want, you'll find yourself with a majority vote so ridiculous it will make your head spin.

What are my fears for Favre. The inevitable in my opinion.

I believe that they seem Favre as a money making opportunity now, to trade him, but not to their rivals who Favre had said he had never intended to go over to. He simply said... "free me, clear me so I am no longer tied to the Packers, or LET ME PLAY" They said no to both.

Now the Packers were basically forced by the commissioner to bring back Favre in which they said "We will use this situation to our advantage"

Key Words: OUR ADVANTAGE, not Brett's or the Packers as a whole, meaning players and fans.

I can only hope they reevaluate who they are as humans, as people and as loyal friends to Farve, as well as mentors and that the dollar signs do not cloud the actual integrity of why football stole all our hearts in the first place.

Go Favre, you have my support and loyalty. Wherever you go!
