    Death Toll From New Zealand Earthquake Still Rising

    The death toll from the earthquake that destroyed Christchurch in New Zealand has risen to 169.  More people are still unaccounted for and the search continues.  Authorities are estimating that the total number of dead could reach around 240. Some bodies may not be found.

     

    Aftershocks and a dust storm have been hampering search and rescue efforts over the past week.

     

    The damage bill could be over $7.5 Billion, with one third of the city of Christchurch destroyed.

     

    The search for possible survivors continues.
