    Republic of Tahrir

On Friday March 4, 2011, a day after prime minister Ahmed Shafiq stepped down. Egyptians took to the streets to celebrate their new sense of freedom. This video shows the spirit of the Egyptian people in Tahrir Square, footage that you don't see on TV.

The revolution started on Jan 25, 2011 when young Egyptians took to the streets to protest against corruption, poverty and unemployment. 18 days later, and on Feb 11, 2011, the long time Egyptian Dictator Hosni Mubarak stepped down, ending his 30-year iron fist rule over Egypt.
