    Stop and take a walk or ride a bike in Oxford

    Glad to see Oxford is leading in your online poll. Oxford and the University of Mississippi are promoting human powered transportation. Oxford was recently recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community and the University of Mississippi has recently signed onto the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment. When you stop we invite you to get out of the car and stretch your legs. Another great way to economise is to replace some of the short trips we make each day with a healthy walk or bike ride. Typical American automobiles make 7 trips per day, average trip length of 4.0 miles ( FHWA 2002 More information about our Pathways initiative in Oxford is online at http://www.loupathways.org/. I would be happy to give you a tour. Plus it would be a great preview of the site of the first presidential debate in September.
