This iReport is part of an assignment:
Not-so-perfect weddings |
Stomach virus and hurricanes were no match for us!
My husband and I spent about a year planning a destination wedding. Our initial destination was Cabo San Lucas; 2 months before our wedding, a hurricane came and wiped out our resort! No problem, we went ahead and planned a quick destination #2 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Thanks to Hurricane Emily, now that hotel was also dunzo-damaging the wedding venue just one month before our wedding.
Panic stricken, I waved my fist at the sky and vowed to not let another hurricane ruin my wedding! We went ahead and booked our wedding in Cancun.
The evening before our wedding, my fiance inhaled a huge bowl of ice cream-well, first thing in the morning-the vomiting began. NON-STOP. Fevers, shakes, and vomiting. I refused to cry, refused to let it affect us as my fiance whispered "too late to reschedule huh?"..so, with a bottle of mineral water and his groomsmen to hold him up, we were able to walk down the aisle and get married. He got an antibiotic shot after the ceremony and missed our reception with a 102 fever (followed with a night of more vomiting). It certainly made our vows interesting, since he had to say them sitting down!!
