    Phagwah Parade

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     This is RVCFOTO's first time going to this parade. She and her boyfriend run a parade blog that leads her all over NYC to cover various parades. 'Richmond Hill is an area of Queens with a large group of Indian [people] but mostly from Guyana and Trinidad. That is were the Caribbean flavor comes in. It was a very festive, colorful parade. At the end of the parade they all gathered at a park and covered themselves with the colorful powder. Some called it rainbow people. The powder is for [a] blessing for the coming year. Great fun!'

Phagwah, or Holi is the Hindu celebration which took place in Richmond Hill -Queens, NY.  The biggest celebration in North America. Adults and children color one another with dye and powder for blessings.
