FUKUSHIMA and HARRISBURG - views of an artist
FUKUSHIMA JAPAN - a modern pixel art featuring the chaos after the terrible earthquake hitting Japan on March 11th 2011. The quake resulted in a huge tsunami wave, destroying large areas in Northeast Japan, killing thousands of people, leaving thousands homeless, and worst but not least, causing big damage to several nuclear power plants, which finally collapsed and send out large amounts of atomic radiation, endangering the health of millions of residents, especially the 35 million metropolis of Tokyo - another nuclear tragedy after Harrisburg and Chernobyl - when will mankind finally learn? - NO NUKES PLEASE!!!
HARRISBURG 1979 - illustrated collage of an explosion tearing off the cap of a nuclear burger, called "Harrisburger", sitting on top of planet earth, which is filled with atomic reactors and nuclear power plants. The art was created in memory of the terrible nuclear accident at Three Mile Island Power Plant near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA, where in 1979 the partly melting of the nuclear reactor core caused huge damage to peoples health and environment. Since then new nuclear disasters hit the world, like the one in Chernobyl 1986, and now Fukushima 2011 - when will mankind finally learn? - NO NUKES PLEASE!!!
