    Memories of Elizabeth Taylor

We shared a birthday, and nearly celebrated together...

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Deliavendar of Boise, Idaho, says she offered her driver's license 'to anyone who stood long enough to look,' in hopes of getting into the celebration. 'I was very disappointed but still rather thrilled knowing that great minds think alike in that Ms. Taylor and I fancied a Disneyland birthday party!' she said. 'I have always been particularly fond of Dame Elizabeth. Everything about her is purple, violet, and lavender and feminine and bitchy and witty and downright rebellious fun. Be who you are at all costs. I loved that about her.' On Wednesday, she found this pin being advertised online. 'I can't get it off my mind. I want to purchase it immediately.'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

Ms. Taylor and I shared a birthday. My favorite memory of her was when I showed up to Disneyland February 27th, 1992 to celebrate my 19th birthday, and was informed that it would be closing early due to Ms. Taylor's 60th birthday celebration being held there that evening. Everything in the park was decorated in my favorite shade of purple. I tried everything I could to be able to stay for the celebration, but even sharing the same birthday did not permit me. LOL

Rest in Peace, dear. I always think of you on my birthday.
