This iReport is part of an assignment:
War in Iraq: 5 years later |
4,001
Take some time today to think about the 4,000 lives that won't go any further. Imagine, if you can, the at least 8,000 lives that have been forever changed by the actions or inactions of others that led to this point.
Now branch out a bit more, and think about the millions of lives across the world that have been altered by the course of this war. Is it worth it to you? Have we gained anything? Has the rest of the world gained anything?
And more importantly, are you willing to be number 4,001? If you are, then stand up and rally around the people who need your support the most. Fight for your country and your fellow Americans in whatever way you see fit. And if you're not willing to be the next in line, stand up and use your voice to be the change you're seeking. Promote rallies, use civil disobedience. Learn from history the ways in which you can right the wrongs you see.
Have a voice and take action from wherever it is on the fence that you stand.
