College Student Starts Organic Tea Company:Seeks to Raise Awareness about Global Warming

Martinsburg, WV- As only a junior in college at Shepherd

University, Arthur Ebeling founded Eastern Isles Teas and Tonics,

under the auspices of his corporation, Ebeling International, Inc.

The company's website can be accessed at www.EasternIsles.com.

The company is seeking to raise $1 million for global warming

and has been featured on AOL News, Fresh Cup Magazine, and other

publications. Eastern Isles is a proud member of 1% for the Planet,

an international coalition of businesses and non-profs dedicating

1% of annual sales to environmental causes. In addition to the distribution of its product line, the

company also distributes tea wholesale to restaurants and other

foodservice establishments as well as retailers. Eastern Isles'

most recent feat was the opening of the Eastern Isles Tea House in

Ebeling's native community of Martinsburg, West Virginia. The tea

house was recently visited by Senator Rockefeller. Ebeling's

intention for the tea house was to create an eclectic community

spot and serve as a venue for the arts. "We wanted to create a

unique community installment and provide a venue for local artists

and musicians. We host poetry readings, open mic nights, and

various educational seminars," says Ebeling. Now a college senior, Ebeling is joined by partners Eric

Stevenson and Felipe Oliveira. Stevenson was a recent graduate of

Shepherd University with a degree in business administration.

Stevenson is the company's Chief Operating Officer (COO). The

company is also poised for its new direction with the addition of

David Levine, founder of Butterfly.net, now Emergent Game

Technologies. Levine, current CEO of Datacaster Corporation, has

joined the Eastern Isles board of directors and lends a great deal

of expertise and experience. "We are quite poised to have David's

assistance. Given his erudition and experience, his contributions will no doubt prove

invaluable," Ebeling says.Eastern Isles is seeking to raise money and purchase a

bottling facility in the state of West Virginia with the intent of

entering the bottled tea market, or R-T-D teas. "The primary

installment of our business model is to secure mass distribution channels for our product. We have a number of new product

lines in development, including R-T-D or bottled teas. Ultimately, we want Eastern

Isles product available at major retail carriers nationwide." This would provide a significant economic stimulis for the

    state.

Excerpt from marketing company Area 51 featuring Eastern

    Isles:September 9, 2007Connecting Markets and Causes

A small article in the latest number of Fresh Cup

magazine (September 2007) about Eastern Isles Teas and Tonics

caughtour attention. It's an organic tea company founded by

ShepherdUniversity student Arthur Ebeling. He's tying his business of

sellingorganic loose-leaf teas (with names like Yingzhou Mountain)

to aneffort to raise $1 million for global warming causes.Teas are a hot market segment and organically grownteas are even hotter. On top of that, the young firm is

conductingsocial action. First, it's dedicating 2% of its sales to

efforts thatwill combat global warming. Second, it's soliciting

    product-connecteddonations - $1 at a time - for its million-buck goal.Despite its college-campus beginnings, here's why youshould look at its website, www.easternisles.com. (You may

need topaste this into your browser.)Item: it's a real business with fully realized brandapproach; "It took us a year," Ebeling says in the article.

"We're aserious company with a serious mission."Item: why not do well by doing good? The site linksyou directly to organizations like Global Green USA and the

WorldWildlife Fund.Item: it's a completely attainable goal. (As BurtonEpstein said to one of us more than 35 years ago, "When you

say 'onemillion dollars' real fast, it doesn't sound like much.")Eastern Isles represents a very simple lesson inconnecting with like-minded people who are also customers, orprospective customers. Besides, the website has a map that

includes theLost Scrolls of Immortality. If you can unlock them, you

    might learnsomething.
