Royal Wedding hat challenge- Sri Lankan style !

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     It took sunethra just half an hour to make her hat from coconut leaves, and another 10 minutes to find a suitable outfit to go with it. 'Sri Lanka is full of coconut trees ... and I suddenly remembered how village women weave mats and hats especially during our Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration time, which is next week,' she says. 'I thought that would be rather an unusual thing to make, and something that would turn heads when I attended the wedding!!'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

I am a distinguished guest invited by Her Majesty the Queen.... at the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton...

... and this my dear friends is how I will wear my hat !!!

I made and wove this hat with a tender coconut tree branch, cut the branch in half wove in between or interlocking leaving the top most pieces sticking out ... and then stuck some temple tree flowers on the top and bottom for decor....  the hat also looks like the King's crown.

    Hehehehe - this was fun....
