Government Shutdown means no pay for Military

As the spouse of a deployed US Marine, the government shutdown will mean half-pay for my husband's service overseas.  And he will continue to work, and to defend his country, and live in a war zone.  All without pay, because the government he works for can't agree on how to finalize a budget.

I am proud to be American, and to be a military spouse.  I am able to raise my children comfortably with my husband's pay, but if this shutdown happens, and continues unabated, I will have difficulty paying for food, let alone any bills.  Will the government pay my mortgage?  Will they pay all of the penalties that could accrue during this time?  I am not famous, I have no reality TV contracts, or any 16 year old pregnant girls to exoploit on television.  So I have no way to make enough money to keep us afloat if the government keeps us in a standstill for any length of time.

Please work your disagreements out.  Please do not delay because of some irrational fear of anger by a political party.  Pay the servicemembers you sent to fight these wars.  Pay the families of those same men and women who are keeping the home fires burning.
