Severe weather |
Two feet of snow hit Alberta again today
- nsaidi, CNN iReport producer
We just had a blizzard two weeks ago bringing two feet of snow. We just had another last night. About one foot of wet snow melted as it fell however the remainder-12-14 inches stayed.
Snow is forecast the next week and major flooding is occuring in southern Alberta, just as per last year.
Starnge cold, wet weather has taken this normally arrid area of Canada into a wet, cold never-never land where we cannot find decent heat or even a day to go out cycling.
Strange weather is hardly the word. Everyone here is depressed, waiting for sun and heat. We are all tired of endless winter that began for us non-stop Oct 15, 2010.
Things could be worse, it could be a drought year with no moisture: that happened to us in 2002 and 2009.
Seems weather extremes are the norm, it's either cold wet and flooding or we are into epic droughts that kill off half our cattle and livestock.
