    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     'Artist and human rights activists planned a peaceful rally in front of the Chinese Consulate to call for the release of Ai Weiwei who has been jailed bu the Chinese government.' emadkarim felt he had to go after reading about the protest and Ai Weiwei's story. 'This is the least we can do for an inspiring activist and artist like Weiwei.

    Artist and activist Ai Weiwei has fought for artistic freedom and for freedom of speech through his work. He has been missing since his arrest on April 3rd in Beijing.  1001 Chairs for Ai Weiwei is an art installation and a demonstration calls for his immediate release, supporting the right of artists to speak and work freely in China and around the world.
