Cachet Homes Hosts Cross Border Real Estate Author Dale Walters' Book Launch Party
Cachet Homes' Encore at Grayhawk community in Scottsdale, Ariz. played host and sponsor to a special event on Wednesday, April 20 to fete the launch of local Arizona resident Dale Walters' first book, Buying Real Estate in the US: The Concise Guide for Canadians. The book focuses on:
- How one should “own” the property
- Avoiding double taxation, non-resident estate tax and other associated tax consequences
- Protecting oneself from personal liability
- Reporting any applicable income on both sides of the border
"We wanted to host and sponsor this special event tonight to honor Dale, and also to thank all of our current Canadian residents for choosing us," said Matt Cody, north Scottsdale resident and founder of Cachet Homes. "We like to think the gated community as well as our lock and leave lifestyle are the perfect fit for their active lives in Arizona whether they are here for six weeks, six months or all year-round."
Likewise, Mayor Jim Lane supported the event and even proclaimed the date as "Canadians in Scottsdale Appreciation Day." Mayor Lane was joined by members of the local Canadian community, Cachet's many Canadian residents and folks from the Canada-Arizona Business Council, of which Walters and his Arcadia firm Keats, Connelly and Associates are members.
Additional sponsors included several local businesses with Canadian ties including Henkel, Circle K, Pop chips, ONEHOPE Wine, Weider and many more.
