Baptism in flood water in Poplar Bluff, MO

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     candy91 was on her way to church on Easter Sunday and when she saw the high floodwaters at Mount Calvary Powerhouse Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she almost turned around and went home. A church van was shuttling people through the water and Dugas helped transport a few people in her car as well. She had no idea that one of the young men in her car was planning to be baptized that day. Marcus Pegues was baptized in the flood water. 'He got baptized in the water that God provided for us. … We trudged on and had our Easter service. We didn’t let the water stop us,' she said.

    To Whom It May Concern:
When tragedy strikes, it's always uplifting to hear a good story....
My name is Candy Dugas, local photographer and member at Mount Calvary Powerhouse Churh, in Poplar Bluff, MO.These are photographs that I took on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.   This  was so awesome to be a part of.   I have to admit, I almost turned  around and went home that day when I saw the water over the road.  As it turns out, I ended up being the one who  transported this young man in my vehicle into church, Easter Sunday,  across the water.  (Having no idea that he was the to be baptized  that morning.) Pastor asked if I had my camera, which of course, I did.   And we celebrated the resurrection of Christ in the water that God provided.  I am including a link to our local news that aired a video clip that was sent in from this blessed event. Thought the world could use some good news....
    Sincerely,
    Candy Dugas

Mt.  Calvary Powerhouse Church, under Dr. Ron Webb, of Poplar Bluff, MO was  flooded on Easter Sunday. Bishop Webb didn't let the flood waters stop  us from celebrating the resurrection of Christ. A fellow member and  student of TRCC was reborn in Christ this Easter as Bishop Webb &  Deacon Mike Kilgore....
