    Massive double avalanches in Colorado

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     marmot says the gray areas on the mountain are where the avalanches occurred. He shot this from a spot in his neighborhood overlooking Lake City, Colorado, and says the town was not in danger from the slide. He describes the avalanche like this: 'It's almost like a plate of spaghetti. You put the plate on its side and everything slides out.'
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

This just happened  today April 27, 2011 just hours ago a massive double slide.

The massive double avalanche is on T mountain in Hinsdale County, Colorado. After a snowstorm last night warm weather and sun caused the unstable snow to slide.

The photo was taken from above the historic town of Lake City.
