Students build, race electric Grand Prix cars
College students from around the world convened at Purdue University to compete in an electric vehicle Grand Prix to demonstrate the strides being made in ev technology.
The second annual evGrandPrix is the proving ground for student engineers being trained in a Purdue-led consortium to be the new breed of car creators that bring ev cars to the masses.
That's good news in an age of global warming and $5 per gallon gas.
These racers will reconvene May 7 for a nationwide collegiate evGrandPrix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the proving ground that spurred gas cars a century ago.
