I honestly have to say that I am amazed that I have just turned 50!  Not because I think that is old or that I might be halfway through my life but because has been so damn much fun I really can't believe it.  All of the sting youthful struggle and hard work that brought me to a much better place than I started seems to have dissipated into kind of a calming wisdom that assures me that no matter what might come, I can deal with it on my own terms as my own man.

When you are young and poor you struggle for stuff, now that I am 50 I know it is only what you do that counts, not what you have.  I enjoy helping my family and being able to guide them with the sense of self-confidence that only years of life experience can bring.  I have had so many wonderful experiences and been so many wonderful places that I truly can say I have been blessed but I can't imagine why.  My wife and children challenge me everyday to be the best I can be because they are so much more intelligent athletic and energetic than I am.  It is the love of this family that inspires me everyday of my life.  I thank God for all I have and I hope I can honor my family with all I do whether it be for 50 more years or 50 more days.  Either way I don't know that I could ever be happier than I am right now.
