Thousands Line The Streets To Ground Zero To See President Obama
Thousands of New Yorkers lined the streets around Ground Zero, to catch a glimpse of President Obama who was on his way to lay a wreath in honor of the victims of 9/11.
The entire area around Ground Zero was closed off and locked down by NYPD, who were out in full force to ensure there were no mishaps during the President's visit.
Many of those who had turned out stood waiting for hours, trying to see the President as he drove by. This reporter arrived an hour ahead of time, and found the streets packed, and cordoned off.
We waited on the steps of St. Peter's Church. There was a brief moment when they police spotted someone standing on a rooftop, high above our heads. The person disappeared within 20 seconds.
