The final shuttle |
Watching From A Distance
- zdan, CNN iReport producer
I have never been to Florida to see a shuttle launch live and in person. But with the advent of technology, I am able to enjoy each launch, and mission, from the comfort of my home, in my mini-MOCR (Mission Operations Control Room)! I am a staunch supporter of human spaceflight. I have watched every launch via NASA TV for well over 10 years. On console or via television, I have joined in the awe, inspiration and glory of many launches … from a distance. Even though I was not there to see the bird fly in person, I am always there in spirit. The space shuttle is a marvel of modern technology. Let’s step things up a notch and go to Mars. Not an asteroid. Mars. Let’s go.
