    Watching From A Distance

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     flight0001 has never seen a shuttle launch in person, but he's seen more than 30 launches via NASA TV from his own 'control room.' He said, 'I watch space shuttle launches for the inspiration they give. They bring the world together for one common goal - exploration and science.' The images he sent are a collection of webcam shots he’s taken over the past five years.
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

I have never been to Florida to see a shuttle launch live and in person.  But with the advent of technology, I am able to enjoy each launch, and mission, from the comfort of my home, in my mini-MOCR (Mission Operations Control Room)!  I am a staunch supporter of human spaceflight.  I have watched every launch via NASA TV for well over 10 years.  On console or via television, I have joined in the awe, inspiration and glory of many launches … from a distance.  Even though I was not there to see the bird fly in person, I am always there in spirit.  The space shuttle is a marvel of modern technology.  Let’s step things up a notch and go to Mars.  Not an asteroid.  Mars.  Let’s go.
