    Your prom dress memories

1966 NJ Senior Prom, and the day after

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     nasus18 says one of the men in the photo recently found this photo and sent it to her. 'We were so grown up and proper, wanting to make the best impression on each other.'
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

The Senior Prom was a really big deal - after 4 years of Catholic School uniforms, it was our night to shine.  The hair styles were up, the flowers were especially picked to go with the gowns and the white dinner jackets - everyone was so beautiful and handsome that night. We wore white gloves and matching shoes - every detail was thought out and selected for this special evening.  We had dinner at a country club with live music - it was magical!   We drove ourselves and got back late - a most memorable evening.

Tradition was that you spent the next day at the beach - a trip to the Jersey shore, with a picnic lunch and sunburn - who know about sunblock back then? We didn't swim, just  dangled our feet in the water - June water temp in Jersey is about 50 degrees - I can still feel the cold!

We were all heading off in different directions after graduation, so this night was our last double date together, the two couples united thru two girls who were best friends.
