Overpaid and Barely Working: Teachers and Firemen

Teachers and firemen have it sweet.  Teachers usually start out making 45K, which is more than I make in the science field with an advanced degree.  They get spring break, winter break, all public holidays, and oh yea, June, July and August.   Teachers whine about being underpaid, but c'mon, you barely work 8 months a year.  If teachers worked a full year like the rest of us chumps do, theyd be making nearly $70,000 a year.  Not bad for someone with a B.A. in anything and a cakewalk 1-year teaching credential degree.  Firemen: all the glory, adoration, sex appeal, and respect you could shake a stick at.  For what?  Hanging out at the firehouse and crusing around on a big red truck.  Sures, theres occasionally some risk involved.  But thats what makes it fun an exciting.  Not to mention breezy work schedules, 3 days on 3 days off. Not bad.  Next time you see a teacher or fireman complaining about work, tell them about sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day, occasionally writing ireport comments just to bring a glimmer of pale greyness into your black void of existence.  Misery loves company.
