    Body Regeneration

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     JoyfulGypsy says, 'Scientists are already very close to making body regeneration a reality' and believes it will become commonplace in the next 50 years. 'I hope I live that long.'

    Assignment:  Next Giant Leap for Mankind

     

    I believe that the day will come when we will be able to prescribe drugs that cause severed spinal cords to heal, organs to regenerate and lost digits and limbs to regrow.

     

    People will come to expect that injured or diseased organs are meant to be repaired from within or grown outside the body and replaced in much the same way that we fix and replace damaged parts in appliances and cars.
