Anglo - American Friendship: Obama & British Art

President Obama & The First Lady have been warmly welcomed to the UK by Queen Elizabeth II - and given a private tour of the Royal Collection of Art at Buckingham Palace.

Expressionist artist Stephen B Whatley (" I voted with my art" he said before the US Election) pictured here in 2008 with his portrait of Barack Obama . Published in TIME magazine, the painting was sold to an American collector living in London.

Whatley's painting of Buckingham Palace hangs in the Palace as part of the Royal Collection; and he was presented to the Queen in 2004.
