Springfield, MA Ground Zero Tornado damage

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     kgalliford1 says he couldn't believe the type of damage he saw. "Cars were tossed like matchbox cars. Debris was everywhere."

Amazing Pictures I captured of the aftermath of the tornado after it struck downtown Springfield, MA. These are "Ground zero" photos of the downtown area along the Connecticut River, the Rt. 5 area, and Sumner Ave area. There was wide-spread damage all throughout the city, including West Springfield, Downtown, and East Longmeadow MA.

There were hundreds of trees down, blocking roads around the Sumner Ave area in the Forest Park section of town.  Debris everywhere, and cars along Rt 5 flipped like toys.  I was amazed of what kind of damage had occurred and it could of been much worse. There have been reports of at least 4 dead from these storms.
