Lucille O'Neal Inducted Into Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Alumni Hall of Fame
From May 18-21, 2011, Boys & Girls Clubs
of America held its National Conference
in New Orleans. Some 2,000 youth
leaders, politicians and business leaders
focused on key youth issues, including
bullying, summer learning loss,
technology and kids, the high school
dropout crisis and more.
During the conference, six outstanding
leaders and former Boys & Girls Club
members from around the country were
inducted into BGCA's Alumni Hall of Fame
during a special ceremony.
One of the inductees was Lucille O’Neal,
mother of NBA star and BGCA alumnus,
Shaquille O’Neal, founder Mothers of
Professional Basketball Players and
inspirational author. This marks the first
time a mother and son have been
inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame.
