So here I am, spending a hot summer in the bustling metropolis of Huntsville, AL. An aspiring Aerospace Engineer with a summer off from school and looking for work. What do I decide to do? That's right, become a museum tour guide at the US Space and Rocket Center. What more could a space geek like me ask for?! Spending my days surrounded by amazing pieces of space history--what a dream come true! Just being on the main museum floor you couldn't help being swept up in the excitement of programs like Mercury and Apollo. Meeting vistors from all around the world and sharing my passion and excitement for space travel, was like being in heaven. I started my mornings in the pre-opening silence of my space and rocket sanctuary, checking out the Apollo 16 capsule to make sure it was presentable and ended my evenings by inspecting the Saturn V rocket or working events that were attended by astronauts and engineers. I got to meet men who walked on the Moon and the engineers that got them there, the "rock stars" of the space community. It was the best summer job that a girl could ask for!
