Mother and unborn baby killed by distracted driver

Last Wednesday, Toni Bolis, age 28 and nine months pregnant with her second child, was returning home from one of her last prenatal doctor's appointments before the birth of her baby due this week.  About a mile from her home, a distracted driver who stated he "looked down at his phone's GPS for a second", crossed into her lane and collided head on with her SUV.  Toni, who was on the phone handsfree with her mother when the accident happened, implored her to get to the scene quickly stating that she felt she would lose the baby.  Upon her arrival minutes later, Toni was unconcious.

Despite their best efforts, medical staff at the local hospital were unable to save both Toni and her baby boy Ryan Jeffrey, who's sex was to be a surprise.

Toni was amazing woman, a loving wife to Eric, a doting mother to her two year old daughter, Mia Rose and a caring friend to many.  News of her and her unborn baby's tragic death inspired many, including this writer, to spread awareness about the dangers of distracted driving.  More than 5,000 Facebook users have pledged to not drive with distractions and to wear green, Toni's favorite color, tomorrow June 10.

Please join us in supporting this important cause by attending this Facebook event and wearing green tomorrow in honor and support of Toni and baby Ryan.
