This iReport is part of an assignment:
Should U.S. lower drinking age? |
18 considered an adult for everything but drinking
18 is considered the magic age for all things adult - except drinking and gambling. Which is totally ludicrous! if one is old enough to get married, have children, be financially accountable, join the military, apply for loans and mortgages, vote, why not be allowed to have a drink? There are hundreds of students right now showing up on college campuses, that will be encountering many things for the first time - no curfews, no supervision, sleep over privileges, alcohol - not a good combination! The kids that have never had a drink prior to going away to college are the ones that usually go crazy with all the new found freedoms. It seems ridiculous that colleges are not allowed to release grade information, bill information, or discipline information to parents - without student approval. The student is considered RESPONSIBLE for everything except they are not allowed to have a beer.
