    Gay Pride parade 2011

    This year is no different from any other year. One day, the city plunges into the alternate self to celebrate freedom, openness and, clearly evident, flamboyancy. This time, there is a cause. Because of a ground breaking law that passed with a close vote last Friday, this year's Gay Pride Parade bore a special meaning to its participants and fans alike. Everyone cheered as politicians marched down the 5th avenue to the Village along with the rest celebrating the momentous occasion in fun and usual quirkiness.
