This iReport is part of an assignment:
Should U.S. lower drinking age? |
Just Another Way To Corrupt Our Youth
Sure lets lower the drinking age to 18. Or better yet how about 16. At 16 you get to drive and if you were raised like I was thats the age you get to start dating. Why not through some alcohol into the mix. Why make them wait till there in college to get DUI's or die of alcohol poisoning. Heck if we do it just right and let them start drinking at 16 half of them probably wont even make it to college saving colleges tons of money each year than the price of tuition will go down. Are you kidding me. This is the dumbest idea I have heard . i don't care what a 18 yr old might think they are not mature enough to handle alcohol. Heck most 21 year olds cant handle it. I have heard the argument well at least the 18 yr olds in the Military should be able to drink. If they are old enough to die for thier country than they are old enough to drink. I use to think the same way until I became a Navy wife and saw the people I was saying should be allowed to drink. Trust me 90% of them could not handle drinking responsibly. And just because they are old enough to die for thier country does not mean they have the right to drink and possible kill someone. Heck I can not tell you how many DUI's just in our command we have had this year alone. And these are guys over 21 so what in Gods name makes people think that 18 year olds can make better decisions than 21 yr olds. While we are at it lets think of more ways to corrupt our youth. Maybe we can put crack despencers in highschool bathrooms. And see who makes mature decisions. Or cigarette machine in middle schools. Lets let our youth fend for themselves. Raise themselves and act like adults now then maybe when they are adults they will be productive citizens. NOT. People Wake Up
