    Humpback whales feeding

Humpback whales feed as an organized group.  They sound and then release bubbles in unison in a circle around the bait fish.  As the bubbles rise, they expand creating a wall that the bait fish see as impenetrable.  The whales surface with their mouths open inhaling what is in the way.

The seagulls see what is happening and feed off the fish that the whales force to the surface.
