I was just a kid when the Cold War ended in 1991. But now with all that is going on with Russia I wonder is the Cold War really over or is it going to start up again. Being the wife of a US Navy Submariner this is a real fear for me. And probably for a lot of other Submariner wives. I watch the news each day waiting to see what Russia does next. Or what Iran has up its sleeve. I know for the submarine community there is always that nagging fear each time our husbands go out to sea. And a huge sigh of relief each time they come back home.  Being from a SSBN class my husband's boats job is to just sit and hide should the day ever come that they are needed. It is a nerve racking 90 days of no communication what so ever praying nothing crazy happens. I can not imagine what it was like for the wives and families of our submariners back when the cold war was in full swing. I have so much respect for them. I just pray that all this unrest with Russia,Iran,China and every where else would just calm down. I pray that the Cold War really is over and never starts again.
