Record Oklahoma Heat Taking Its Toll on Mother Earth
- jmsaba, CNN iReport producer
Oklahoma had a very dry winter, followed by a dry spring. We are now going for a record number of days with +100 temp's. The heat wave is taking its toll on human lives, and on Mother Earth. On my morning walks I see several places where the record heat along with the drought has cracked open Mother Earth. There is a huge crack over three feet long in my front and back yard. Also many of my neighbor's yards have the large heat crack in them as well. The last time I seen a crack in my yard like this was in 1980 when we had 50 days of +100 Temps.
