Masai Mara National Reserve: African safari

Masai Mara, A Father and Daughter adventure of a life time...

In September of 2009, I was able to spend my 33rd Birthday with my Father and the Masai Mara African tribe in Kenya.  What an amazing birthday and an adventure in one.  Starting off in the intimidating city of Nairobi was just the beginning of our adventure.  Not sure if I was more scared of our survival in Nairobi or being 10 feet away from a lion during a 3 day African safari trip.  Yet the amazing beauty this country has to offer, from the tea farms in the higher country to the paradise beaches in Malindi subsides most fears.  I've traveled a lot of places in this world and hands down, the bright blue waters and white sand beaches (Indian Ocean) in Malindi has by far been the best.

What truly topped off this trip was making friends with the Masai Mara tribe.  Daniel, the medicine man and the Chief of the tribe took us under their wings and shared an experience with my Father and I that will never be forgotten.  If you are kind to them, they will open up their hearts to you and take you on a journey that will literally last a lifetime.
